Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of TestGrab. By creating an account or using the TestGrab app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. About TestGrab
TestGrab ("we", "us", "our") is a UK-based service operated via testgrab.co.uk. We monitor the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) booking system for practical driving test cancellations and help you move your existing booking to an earlier available slot.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the DVSA or any UK government body. TestGrab is an independent, third-party service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old (the minimum driving age in England, Scotland, and Wales) to use TestGrab. By registering, you confirm that:
- You are 17 or older
- You hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence
- You have an existing DVSA practical test booking that you wish to bring forward
- You are legally permitted to take a practical driving test in the UK
3. How the Service Works
Once you provide your DVSA driving licence number and booking reference, TestGrab will:
- Continuously monitor the DVSA system for cancellations at your chosen test centres
- Check available slots against your date, time, and day preferences
- Surface matching slots to you so you can book — either yourself, or, on plans that include automation, on your behalf
You must have an existing DVSA test booking before using our service. We do not create new test bookings — we surface earlier dates so you can move your existing booking.
4. Authorisation to Act on Your Behalf (Important)
Please read this section carefully — it is critical to how TestGrab operates legally.
From 12 May 2026, the DVSA rules state that only the candidate themselves may book or change a practical driving test. To comply with this rule while still providing our service, you appoint TestGrab as your authorised agent for the limited purposes set out below.
By creating an account and providing your DVSA credentials, you confirm and authorise that:
- You are the named candidate on the DVSA test booking you wish to manage.
- You voluntarily authorise TestGrab to use your DVSA driving licence number and booking reference solely to: search for earlier test slots matching your preferences, and (on plans that include automation) move your existing test to an earlier slot you have approved.
- Any booking action taken by TestGrab is taken on your express instruction, with you as the principal and TestGrab acting as your appointed agent.
- The booking remains entirely yours and on your DVSA account at all times.
- You can revoke this authorisation at any moment by pausing the scanner, disconnecting DVSA in the app, or deleting your account.
This authorisation is specific to TestGrab's operation and does not extend to any other third party. We will only act on your behalf to the extent strictly necessary to deliver the plan you selected.
4.1 Your Standing DVSA Affirmation (specific to the candidate-declaration gate)
Effective May 2026, the DVSA inserts a pre-dashboard "candidate declaration" page after every fresh login, where the user must tick "I confirm I am the learner and agree to the terms and conditions" and tap "Agree and continue".
To establish your standing affirmation of this declaration, during onboarding our app opens DVSA's website in a secure in-app browser. You — not our software — manually tick the checkbox and tap "Agree and continue". The exact timestamp of this affirmation is recorded by us and forms the legal basis for any subsequent automated traversal of the same gate during scanning.
The mechanics:
- Onboarding (you tap): You manually tick the DVSA candidate-declaration checkbox and tap "Agree and continue" inside our in-app browser. We record the timestamp.
- Scanning (we tap on standing authorisation): When our scanning system logs into your DVSA account, it may encounter the same gate. With your onboarding affirmation on file, we submit the gate form on your standing direction. We do not submit if your onboarding affirmation is missing or has been revoked.
- Booking (you tap, every time): On any plan that opens DVSA's booking pages for you (Guided), you tap the affirmation gates manually at the moment of booking — including any per-booking declarations DVSA requires.
This is a classic principal-agent arrangement: you authorise us, in writing, to repeat a routine declaration on your behalf while scanning. Each meaningful transaction (booking) still has your direct personal affirmation.
You can revoke your standing affirmation at any time by disconnecting DVSA in the app or deleting your account. Once revoked, our scanning will halt for your account until you re-affirm.
5. Plans and What They Include
TestGrab offers three plans. You select one at signup and can change it any time before a booking is made:

The Auto plan, when available, involves automated action on your behalf and requires a separate, additional confirmation step during onboarding before it can be activated.
6. Pricing and Payment
TestGrab operates on a success-only pricing model:
- You are charged the price of your selected plan only if we successfully help you book an earlier test
- There are no upfront fees, subscriptions, monthly costs, or hidden charges
- If no earlier test is found, you pay nothing
When you activate the scanner, a payment method must be on file. On a successful booking your card is charged automatically via Stripe (our PCI-DSS Level 1 payment processor). All prices include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed in GBP.
7. Refund Policy
Because you are only charged after a successful rebooking is recorded on the DVSA system, refunds are exceptional rather than routine. We will auto-refund any charge to your original payment method within 5 business days if any of the following apply:
- You were charged but no rebooking is visible on your DVSA account
- A technical error on our part caused an incorrect booking
- Auto plan only: the slot we booked was already in the past, outside your stated date range, or at a centre you did not select
For any other refund request, contact support@testgrab.co.uk within 14 days of the charge. Each case is reviewed individually and we aim to respond within 48 hours. You retain all statutory rights under UK consumer law (Consumer Rights Act 2015).
8. Your DVSA Credentials
To use the scanner, you must provide your DVSA driving licence number and test booking reference. These credentials are:
- Encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption before being stored
- Only decrypted in-memory when actively scanning or booking on your behalf
- Never shared with any third party other than DVSA (when acting as your agent under section 4)
- Deleted within 30 days of account closure, or immediately if you disconnect DVSA in the app
You are responsible for ensuring the credentials you provide are accurate, up to date, and your own.
9. No Guarantee of Results
TestGrab is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee that:
- An earlier test slot will be found within any timeframe
- The service will be available without interruption
- The DVSA system will be accessible at all times
- Slots we find will still be available by the time you confirm them
Test cancellations are unpredictable and depend on other candidates releasing their slots. Popular centres and dates may have very limited availability. We will do our best, but we cannot promise specific outcomes.
10. Acceptable Use
When using TestGrab, you agree NOT to:
- Provide false, misleading, or someone else's credentials
- Use the service to circumvent DVSA's terms of service in ways outside the scope of section 4
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or interfere with the app or our systems
- Use automated tools or scripts to access the service outside of the app
- Resell or commercially exploit the service
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these terms, without refund.
11. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Upon deletion:
- Your active scanner will be stopped immediately
- Your DVSA credentials will be securely deleted
- Your personal data will be removed within 30 days (financial records retained for 6 years per HMRC rules — see Privacy Policy)
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, TestGrab and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:
- Missed test dates or appointments
- Lost or changed bookings (other than to the slot you authorised)
- Issues with your DVSA account or test results
- Financial losses beyond the price of your selected plan
- Delays or downtime of the DVSA system
- Acts or omissions of third-party service providers (Stripe, OneSignal, Supabase, etc.)
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
13. DVSA Compliance
We monitor and react to DVSA rule changes. As of the last update:
- We respect the 6-changes-per-account-per-12-months rule (decreasing to 2 per 12 months from 31 March 2026)
- We respect the maximum 3-centres-per-search rule (from 9 June 2026)
- We respect DVSA's night-mode and maintenance windows
- We do not attempt to circumvent DVSA's rate limits or queue systems
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Substantive changes will be notified via the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
